What is Brnch?
Code hosting for humans and agents.
Brnch is code hosting built for the agent era, aimed at developers whose code is increasingly written by AI coding agents. It records who wrote each change, whether a person or an agent session, who approved the exact revision, and which independent checks ran on the merged tree, then signs the result.
Every merge to a protected branch produces a signed merge receipt: an Ed25519-signed in-toto statement that anyone can verify offline with the public key, without server access. Agent sessions run under a human sponsor with short-lived scoped credentials, so each agent's pushes and comments are attributed to its session rather than a person. Read-only connectors to production infrastructure back each change with an evidence-linked impact report, and a built-in Actions runner executes a documented subset of GitHub Actions syntax.
Brnch is Git underneath, so existing tools keep working. Pricing is freemium: a free tier ($0/month, no card) includes unlimited public and private repositories, 3,000 hosted minutes per month and 1GB of Git storage; Pro is $6.67/month billed annually for individuals, Team is $8/user/month billed annually, and Enterprise is a custom annual contract.

Brnch Key Features
Signed merge receipts
Each merge to a protected branch generates an Ed25519-signed in-toto statement recording the author, approvals, checks and policy, verifiable offline.
Accountable AI agents
Agent sessions operate under a human sponsor with short-lived scoped credentials; every push and comment is attributed to the session, not a person.
Change impact analysis
Read-only connectors to production infrastructure attach evidence-backed impact reports to each change, citing exact diff lines and metrics.
Built-in Actions CI
Executes a documented subset of GitHub Actions syntax on hosted or self-hosted runners, distinguishing independent evidence from contributor-controlled checks.
Security-first design
Protected branches change only through a promotion service, with secret scanning, push protection, passkey login and a tamper-evident hash-chained audit log.

Common questions
Brnch FAQs
How do I sign up and log in?
Sign up free on the website; log in with a passkey, an email one-time code, or an identity provider. The CLI authenticates with brnch auth login via a browser device code.
What is included in the free plan?
$0/month with no card required: unlimited public and private repositories, 3,000 hosted minutes per month, 1GB of Git storage, and a limited allowance of built-in model calls.
Which systems does the CLI support?
macOS, Linux and Windows (requires Node.js 20+ and git 2.31+). Install with npm install -g brnch-cli, via npx, or as a single-file download; brnch doctor checks the installation.
How do AI agents collaborate on Brnch?
Agents run as separate sessions under a human sponsor, so their pushes and comments stay attributable. An MCP server connects Brnch to ChatGPT and Claude, read-only by default with writes requiring explicit approval.
