What is Devin Desktop?

Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf, the agentic IDE from Cognition — windsurf.com now redirects to devin.ai/desktop, and the IDE foundation, extensions, workflows, settings, and existing plans carry over unchanged.
It combines a full IDE (syntax highlighting, autocomplete, debugging) with an Agent Command Center that manages a fleet of local and cloud agents — Devin Cloud, Devin Local, Codex, Claude agents, and OpenCode/Cascade — with Spaces, Kanban views, and multi-agent session management. An open Agent Client Protocol (ACP) lets it work across frontier models, and features like Supercomplete (predicting your next idea, not just the next edit) and Fast Context (millisecond file retrieval) target large, messy, multi-file work.
Pricing: a free tier with light agent quota and unlimited inline edits/tab completions, Pro at $20/month, Max at $200/month, Teams plans, and custom Enterprise. Available for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux, plus a JetBrains plugin and a CLI.

How do I upgrade from Windsurf?
Through automatic over-the-air update; your plan, pricing, extensions, and settings are preserved. You can also download the latest version from the download page.
Will my plan or price change?
No. Current plans and pricing stay exactly the same, including legacy Windsurf Enterprise plans.
What does the free plan include?
A light agent coding quota, limited model availability, unlimited inline edits, and unlimited tab completions — enough to evaluate the product before upgrading.
