1 / 2Overview
What is fastbrowse?
Fastest open source browser agent
fastbrowse is a fast, open-source browser agent that works differently from screenshot-based agents. Instead of asking a model to decide every step from a screenshot, it indexes the page into the controls it actually has — every button, link and field — and lets Jev, a choice model, pick the next step from that list. If it is unsure, it falls back to a standard model. Because it only picks from what is on the page, it cannot click something that is not there.
Every answer comes with citations: each claim links to a verbatim quote from the page, so results can be checked. Safety is enforced in code — irreversible actions stop until explicitly authorized, secrets are typed only on their declared origin, and step, time and dollar limits are enforced. It runs as a CLI, a Python library, Node and Go SDKs, an MCP server, or a skill for coding agents, on a cloud browser or local Chrome.
Note that the project describes itself as highly experimental and not yet recommended for production use.

fastbrowse Key Features
Picks, never invents actions
Each page is indexed into the controls it has and Jev, a choice model, picks one, so it cannot click something that is not on the page.
Cited answers
Every claim in a complete answer cites a verbatim quote from the page, with a link that scrolls to it.
Code-held safety gates
Submit, pay, delete and send stop until you allow them; secrets are typed only on their declared origin and models see only their names.
Any browser
Runs on a cloud browser by default, local Chrome, or any Chromium browser or Electron app already running.
Every interface
A CLI, a Python library, Node and Go SDKs, an MCP server, and a skill for coding agents.
