Real-time detector that tells you live whether a voice you hear is human or AI-generated.

Voice Check homepage — 'Is that voice human?'
1 / 3Overview
What is Human or AI??
That voice might not be real. Now you'll know.
Voice Check by Weird Machines tells you, live, whether the voice you are hearing belongs to a real person or to AI. It listens to whatever is playing — a call, a video, a voice message — and reports, as it speaks, whether the voice is human.
There are three ways to use it:
In your browser. Start Voice Check right on the website. It runs entirely in the page (Chrome or Edge on a computer), so no audio ever leaves your device and nothing is recorded. Try it free.
On your Mac. Voice Check is built into Off the Record for Mac (macOS 15+). A menu-bar icon keeps it one click away; a floating window stays on top and shows the last minute of readings — green means human, red means AI — for every call, video, and voice message on the Mac.
In your product. The developer API offers Detect (a verdict plus confidence for a recording) and Protect (blocks AI transcription of a recording while humans can still understand it). Local deployment is supported.
Privacy is central to the design: no audio uploads, no recordings kept, only the on-screen readings of the last minute. Detection judges how a voice sounds rather than what it says, so it is not tied to a single language, though training data is mostly English. It gives a reading, not proof — brand-new voice generators can slip past, and poor-quality human audio can look unusual.
Pricing is freemium. The browser version is free to try. Off the Record for Mac offers Free ($0, 60 protected minutes a week, no account needed), Pro ($8/month or $72/year, unlimited minutes, up to 5 Macs), Hiring ($30/seat/month for interview teams), and Organization (custom). The API starts with 1,000 free credits and no credit card.

Common questions
Human or AI? FAQs
Which browsers can check a tab's voice?
Chrome and Edge on a computer. Pick the tab that is playing and keep "Share tab audio" turned on. Safari, Firefox, and phones cannot share a tab's sound with a page yet.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The model runs inside the page, audio goes from the tab straight to the model, and no recordings are kept — only the last minute of readings you see on screen.
How sure is the verdict?
It gives a reading, not proof. Brand-new voice generators can slip past it, and a real person on a poor line or in a noisy room can look unusual. Watch the trend over a few seconds of clear speech rather than a single moment.
Does it work with languages other than English?
Yes. It listens to how a voice sounds rather than what it says, so it is not tied to one language. The training data is mostly English, so results are most reliable there.
