Most AI-risk tools operate at the occupation level. They look up your job title, return a single number for everyone who shares it, and stop there. But two people with identical titles rarely do identical work. A marketing manager who spends most of the week drafting copy and building reports faces very different exposure than one who spends it in client rooms and negotiations. AI Job Risk Check is built on that distinction.

Here is how it works. You enter your job title through a typeahead backed by roughly 57,500 alternate titles from the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET database, mapped to 1,016 occupations. If your title does not resolve cleanly, you describe what you do in two or three sentences and the system matches you to the closest occupations. You then see the real occupational tasks for that role — drawn from 18,796 federally catalogued tasks — and rate how much of your time each one takes on a simple five-point scale. One more question about whether you do the work or manage people who do it, and you get your score.

The AI Job Risk Score is a time-weighted average of task-level AI exposure on a 0 to 95 scale. Each task carries an exposure rating grounded in Eloundou et al. (2024), published in Science, and three-year projections draw on METR's 2025 research on AI task time-horizons. The time-weighting is what makes the score personal: your number is computed from how your week actually breaks down, which is why two people with the same title get different results. The free score, your risk band, and one fully analyzed task cost nothing and take about 60 seconds, with no signup required. For $29.99 one-time, you unlock the complete report: a profile of your role, a task-by-task breakdown of what AI can already do versus what it cannot, and a prioritized action plan naming the specific AI skills to build now and over the next year. That one-time price also includes your first month of coaching, delivered by text, because a report alone rarely changes behavior. Continuing coaching is $12.99 per month afterward, sent as a separate link rather than auto-billed.

The site also publishes 923 free occupation guides, one per federal SOC code, browsable by industry and searchable by title.

AI Job Risk Check is built by Phronesis Labs LLC, founded by Brooke Houck, whose professional background is in assessment science and psychometrics — the measurement discipline behind standardized testing. The product applies that measurement rigor to a question most people are currently answering with guesswork.
