Quiet Auctions & Video Mail
About Grove
Grove Video (also called Grove Mail) is a peer-to-peer video platform for messaging, short clips, and selling physical goods. Operated by Pointever, Inc., it brings social video and commerce into one product so people and businesses can show what they have, talk about it, and close a sale without leaving the app.
Grove is organized around three spaces: Public, Mail, and You.
Public is the short-clip feed. Users post clips up to one minute. Those clips can stand alone as social content, or they can promote a listing—showing a real item someone wants to sell. Public is built for discovery: follow creators, browse For you / Following, and share links. When a Public clip is tied to a Quiet Auction, it is promotional media for a physical product, not a digital download or clip license.
Mail is private video messaging. Record or upload a clip up to five minutes and send it to another user’s inbox, or watch what others send you. Mail is meant for direct, personal conversation—questions, follow-ups, shipping details, and sale-related correspondence—while remaining subject to Grove’s moderation and safety rules. Friends and Followers make it easy to stay connected: following someone unlocks Mail and can surface Friends-only private clips, without exposing email, phone, or mailing address.
You is the account hub: profile, plans, orders, shipping, and settings. Here users manage Mail plans, storage, and Quiet Auction fulfillment—buyer ship-to addresses and seller tracking—in one place.
Grove’s commerce feature is Quiet Auction: a sealed best-offer flow for physical goods only (new, open box, pre-owned, used). A seller lists an item with a Public clip, buyers submit offers from a defined floor, and when the seller accepts, payment runs through Stripe. Grove facilitates the marketplace; it is not the seller of the goods, does not take title, and is not the merchant of record for listed items. Grove earns a 7.5% platform commission on completed auction sales. Sellers keep the remainder (after payment processing) and pay shipping. After purchase, buyers and sellers use You → Shipping to exchange address and tracking so fulfillment stays clear and auditable.
Alongside marketplace fees, Grove sells Mail subscriptions—Individual, Business, and Enterprise tiers—for higher messaging capacity and related features, plus optional storage add-ons. The core site remains free to use; paid plans unlock more Mail capability for individuals, SMBs, and enterprises who need it.
Grove is designed for adults 18+ and is available in the United States during beta. The product takes a deliberate stance on trust and scope: no marketplace for digital clip licenses; no music library (users must have rights to audio they share); and zero tolerance for prohibited content such as nudity, illegal drugs, violence, weapons or firearms on camera, harassment, or illegal activity.
In short, Grove is where video meets selling. Show the item on Public, negotiate and follow up in Mail, check out through Quiet Auction, and ship with shared order tracking—built for people and businesses who want a direct, video-first way to sell real goods.
