What is Yaps AI?
Yaps is a privacy-first voice productivity and AI notes app built for people who think faster than they type. On desktop, hold a shortcut and speak naturally; Yaps cleans up the dictation and places the finished text wherever the cursor is. On Android, Yaps is a full customizable keyboard with voice typing, tap typing, glide typing, autocorrect, themes, fonts, clipboard tools, and multilingual support.
Everything you capture can become part of a private Markdown knowledge base. Dictations, voice notes, and pages saved from the web remain searchable, editable, and readable as ordinary files outside the app. Notes can sync between supported mobile and desktop devices.
Yaps turns that knowledge base into a full AI chat experience. You can have ongoing conversations with your notes, ask follow-up questions, compare information across files, reconnect related ideas, explain previous decisions, and discuss what you have saved. Responses can stay grounded in your own material and reference the relevant notes, but the experience is broader than search or one-shot question answering.
Yaps also reads selected text and saved content aloud and includes tools for working with text and audio. Core dictation, notes, AI chat, and read-aloud workflows are private, offline-first, and designed to run on the user's device once local models are installed. Optional network-backed features are clearly identified. Yaps is available on macOS, Windows, and Android, with iOS coming soon.
