1 / 2Overview
What is Godwit?
An open-source, AI-native email client
Godwit is an open-source, AI-native email client you can extend. It works with any IMAP/SMTP account on macOS, Windows and Linux, with offline changes, conversations, full-text search and HTML compose, and setup detected for Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, QQ Mail, 163/126, Lark/Feishu, DingTalk and more.
Its assistant, Wit, reads, summarizes, translates and drafts mail with the model you choose, including local models, and it never sends an email without your approval. AI actions cover summarize, translate, tone and length, and quick replies. There is no Godwit account, no telemetry and no server relaying your mail: synced mail, drafts and the search index stay on your computer, and passwords live only in the system keychain. Godwit is free and open source under Apache 2.0, and an early preview, so expect some rough edges.
